As a user of the iPhone since day 1 (3rd one out the door at Apple’s Michigan Avenue store) I always look forward to the latest version. Steve Jobs is expected to take the wraps off today. Expect better battery life, better screen, HD video (that’s why AT&T is changing the data plan), and an extra camera for video calls. This debut comes at a time when more manufacturers are launching phones that can really compete with the iPhone. But I think we’ll see Steve Jobs raise the bar just a little bit higher.

I spent a lot of time on my computer at work yesterday, surfing a site that would surely get me fired if it weren’t for the assignment I was given. Chat Roulette is a site that links your webcam (I borrowed our digital expert Rick Kramer’s) to random web cameras from around the world. I talked with people in Tunesia, France, China, Finland, Denmark, Norway, London and even New York! Some of them were fascinating, but a good number of the contacts I didn’t bother staying with were shirtless men who appeared ready to engage in something sexual or were already engaged. So this fascinating link to the world can also be seedy and x-rated. Not for the kids!
